PETS
PREBIOTIC PROPERTIES: Scientific research has shown that ingestion of moderate amounts of inulin and Orafti oligofructose results in a significant increase in benefic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in the intestinal tract.
FUNTIONAL DIETARY FIBER: As dietary fibers, the inulin and Orafti oligofructose have a positive effect on the frequency, consistency and stool quality. They reduce transit time and increase stool mass.
IMPROVE IN NUTRIENT ABSORPTION: The absorption of minerals is essential for animal growth and strength of their muscles and bones. Inulin and Orafti oligofructose in diet increase intestinal absorption surface and activate calcium absorption mechanisms.
ODOR REDUCTION: Fermentation of inulin and Orafti oligofructose produce SCFA (short-chain fatty acids), results in the reduction of pH in the colon. This produces a less favorable environment for proteolytic fermentation and, therefore, for the formation of putrefactive compounds (which are often also toxic).

A SOLUTION FOR EVERY STAGE OF LIFE

PORCINES
The use of prebiotics derived from the chicory root is widely known in human diets. The same happens in animal nutrition, inulin and oligo fructose have been shown to be beneficial both in intestinal health and in zootechnical performance.
Prebiotics are fibers that cannot be digested by the piglet enzymes at the weaning stage. However, a limited number of bacteria known as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacilli can ferment them. The selective stimulation of these bacteria in the intestine reduces the growth of pathogens. In this way, prebiotics promote a development of the beneficial intestinal flora.
Especially, after weaning, when the intestinal flora is subjected to disturbances as a consequence of drastic changes in diets, Orafti inulin can help colonize the beneficial bacteria in the intestine of the small piglet.
The inclusion of prebiotics can contribute to the strategy of reducing the need to include antibiotics in the food.
The fermentation of Inulina Orafti produces short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), acidifying the medium, reducing the pH, providing protection against pathogens. SCFAs are widely known as a primary energy source to the cells of the intestinal mucosa. Increase in intestinal villi and depth of the crypt have been demonstrated when inulin was added to the diet.

IMPROVEMENTS IN ZOOTECHNIC INDICES AND IN EGG CASCARA QUALITY: Fermentation of Inulin by lactic acid bacteria results in increased production of SCFA and reduction of pH in the intestine. A low pH stimulates a better absorption of calcium, thus achieving a better bone consistency and a significant reduction of egg shell breaks in heavy breeders and laying hens.
